1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup softened butter or margarine
16 ounces confectioner's sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons shortening
6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
In a medium size mixing bowl, cream peanut butter and butter together. Next add vanilla and confectioner's sugar. When stirring gets hard, knead dough with hands. With a teaspoon, scoop out a small amount of dough.
Roll into a ball. Take a tooth pick and poke the peanut butter ball. With your chocolate mixture, dip the ball halfway in melted chocolate.
Chocolate - In a double boiler, bring water to a boil. Add shortening and chocolate chips. With a spoon, stir them until completely melted.
